March is National Kidney Month

There’s a reason people always say, “I’d give my Kidney to have that.” Its because Kidneys are one of the most vital organs you have. They are responsible for removing toxic substances and producing important hormones necessary for the proper function of your body, including epinephrine.

It is estimated that 1 in 3 Americans is at risk for kidney disease due to diabetes, high blood pressure or a family history of kidney failure. There are more than 26 million Americans who already have kidney disease, and most don’t know it because there are often no symptoms until the disease has progressed.
